Hey ladies! Sorry I have not been around much since the holidays... I have been crazy busy at work and have been having some health issues.
Speaking of health issues... I have both an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled for next Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital and I would appreciate some T&P... I am super nervous about the procedures.
I had an ERCP done the day after I had my gallbladder removed (in 2004) and I was awake through the whole procedure, even though i was supposed to be asleep! So I have a lot of anxiety about having the upper GI done.
Hope everyone is doing well, and maybe things will slow down here at work soon so that I can Nest more often ![]()
Re: T&P Please?
T&P! I had an upper endoscopy before, and it was a breeze.

ugh. don't remind me.
GL! Its not so bad. Ya know... once its over.
Maybe if you tell them it makes you panicy you can get some decent sedation meds. eh? ehhh?
Call me Kat =^..^=
I think right now I am more nervous about the prep than the procedures... but I am sure that will change Monday morning! lol At least he gave me pills to take instead of having to drink the liquid, which I have heard is horrible. But... I have to take 32, yes 32 pills in one day! Plus, my co-pay for the pills was $75. I really need to get new health insurance
I told the doctor about what happened last time (my IV came out, so I didn't get any of the sedation... I told the nurse/doctors that it had come undone, and no one would listen to me... finally I started yelling that my arm was burning and they looked at it and hooked the IV back up, but all the sedation meds had just gone on the table and not in me. I kept saying "I'm still awake" and no one was listening so I switched to "It hurts, it hurts" and the doc had them give me more demerol... It was very scary, and that scope was huge! Plus, since I was fully awake, I still had a gag reflex... fun, fun.
The second ERCP (to remove the stint) was done at a different hospital and it went well, but I had major panic attacks as soon as I arrived at the hospital to have it done. And they had to keep me overnight for observation.
Anyway... at my appointment on Monday I told the doctor about all of this and he gave me "a money back guarantee" (lol) that I would be OUT and he gave me some Zanax for anxiety leading up to the procedures, so that should help with the panic attacks.
Thanks for the T&P ladies! I will let you know how it goes next week.
