30th birthday for DH

Hey ladies.  I'm a fairly good planner normally, but for this shindig in particular I find myself at a loss.  DH originally planned to have his bday/super bowl party combo.  He wanted wings and snacks and drinks.  No problem.  Now, DH has opted to have his bday party the Saturday before the super bowl, then also have friends over for the football game the next day.  (I wanted him to combine the 2 events....lol)  So, now, what the heck do I do with all these people?  He's saying not to make a big deal of it.  But, I'm going to have 20 people over and no real entertainment.  Should I come up with a theme?  Movie marathon?  Games?  I just don't want it to be lame, it IS his 30th.

Re: 30th birthday for DH

  • If a lot of the same people will be at both events, you could make his birthday party a tailgate party theme.  It would be a seperate event, but still make a fun connection of the two.  Do tailgating foods and maybe have a pool for things like the winner, final score, etc. for the game.

You're welcome!  I'm hosting MH's 30th birthday in February also, so I'm kind of in that mindframe.  Big Smile  MH's is at the end of the month, and he's 1/2 Scottish.  We love murder mystery parties, so I found a St. Patrick's Day Murder Mystery Party.  I know his birthday isn't on St. Paddy's day, but like I said, he's 1/2 Scottish, so it still works, since it's still a Celtic theme.
