One step closer...

to my dream job! The phone interview went great yesterday. I am scheduled for an in-person interview Tuesday. The HR woman said there would be a lot of role playing at this interview, which I am not of fan of either but I will do what I need to do. Well I should say if I just need to answer questions in a scenario, I'm fine. If a person is going to act like a patient and throw tantrums, ugh.

The HR woman also told me that there were hundreds of applicants and they narrowed it down to the top 10 and then it will go down to the top 2. If nothing else I made it to the top 10, I am so happy about that!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Re: One step closer...

  • Congratulations - sounds like its going great!  Good luck next week!
  • That's fantastic! I'm so happy for you. I really hope it goes well for you next Tuesday. Role play does sound like it could be challenging, but you already know you made it this far so that should give you additional confidence. Go mb!

Awesome!  I hope the interview goes well (and yeah, role playing sounds tough).

  • Congrats! That's great news!

I've been on both sides of the table when "role playing" was mentioned as a possible interview situation. It has ranged (as PPs have said) from "Here's a situation. How might you respond?" to one of the panel members taking on the persona of a "client" or "student" or "patient" and not relenting and forcing you to live through the situation. I will say that the latter is rare and usually requires someone on staff to have lingering theatrical desires...but I have seen it happen.

No matter what you're faced with, be proud you made the top ten and let that confidence carry you through the interview. I'm sure you'll be awesome!
