Pensacola ladies...

One of my really good friends and her DH are moving to P'cla.  He is already there after getting a teaching position at Pensacola State.  They are looking for a place to rent and I was hoping you could give me the names of a few good areas for them to look at.  I know she mentioned that she wanted to live closer to I-10 (her job will be in mobile) and she also mentioned something about near the airport??  Any suggestions of neighborhoods they should take a look at?

 TIA!

Re: Pensacola ladies...

  • I suggest anything in Cordova Park or Scenic Heights - family friendly and quiet neighborhoods that are not far from the interstate or PSC.
  • There is a house for rent in my neighborhood. It's 2 or 3 bedrooms and probably 2 bath. No garage. We're in Bilek Manor, off of Mobile Hwy and Michigan Ave. It's an okay part of town, our neighborhood is new and small. Other than that, I10 runs all the way through Pensacola, you can get to it pretty easily no matter where you're at. The airport is off of 12th Avenue and that's a nice part of town. I think KWH lives over that way. It is the "shopping" area of town so there is more traffic but there's really not much traffic here compared to other cities.

ETA: PSC is right down the street from the Airport so that would be an easy part of town to live for him. It's not too far from the interstate either.

  • I agree with pp.  Those are good options.  I'm assuming she requested the airport area b/c it's close to PSC?  If they're willing to budge on that....The Pine Forest/Nine Mile area may be a good option.  There are 2 I-10 ramps near that area and they're the closest to the Alabama line.  This would give the PSC employee about a 15-20 min drive and the Mobile employee a much more convenient drive.  We are slightly north of 9 Mile (in Cantonment, not Pensacola...but close enough for argument's sake!)  and DH drives to Daphne, AL every day which is alllmost to Mobile.  It takes him about 45 min.

  • My rental is open for lease as of Feb 1. I love the neighborhood, close to I-10 and about 35-40 minutes from Daphne.  Check out Ferry Pass or I can PM you the listing for this house if you want to pass it on.
