Sooooo disappointed!

H and I were released from the hospital a little while ago. I was never started on pitocin because apparently I have been having a ton of contractions that I wasn't even feeling, or noticing them as contractions. Now that I know what a contraction is, I can tell I have been having them. It is so weird. Anyways I was only dilated 1cm after the cervidil and they did not want to insert another one because I was having so many contractions. After a ton of walking, bouncing on an excercise ball, etc. I was still not dilated any more than before. My doctor said I should go home and come back if I go into labor. I know it is the right thing to do but it is so disappointing. The babies are very healthy and are having no problems, so another week inside would be fine for them and better for my delivery. She is trying to avoid a c-section, which I appreciate. But it is still a huge bummer!! If nothing happens by Monday, I go back in to get  my cervix checked again and to schedule round #2.

So PLEASE hope/wish/pray that my water breaks or my contractions get stronger, or something! H and I want to have these babies!!!

  • I am laughing, but just at the situation.  Those babies have minds of their own!  :)  Good luck walking/bouncing/cheering them out this week.

  • Oh no!  I'm disappointed for you!  I'm surprised they changed their minds.  I thought this was it!  Isnt funny that you didnt even know what contractions felt like until you are being monitored??

I hope things progress for you quickly from here on out!

  • Oh Jess!! I will be cheering those babies out!!!
  • Oh no! I'm thinking of you and hoping your water breaks asap :-) I know you are sooo eager to meet them!

  • Oh man, I am bummed for you......eat spicy and go sex it up? (Yes, I learned everything I know from the movies, not from experience...)

  • I'd be disappointed too, especially since you knew it was going to be today. I've never heard of someone going in to be induced and them being sent home for it to happen naturally, but having them come on their own terms seems best. I am sending you lots of vibes they decide to come out ASAP.

It worked for me! My water broke within a few hours of doing both.

  • That sucks!  You have all my labor dust going your way!  Keep us posted.
  • Well, it is a beautiful day for walking and walking and walking and walking. Y'know, after that other stuff.

Sorry, though. I can't even imagine how disappointing that must be after you get yourself all psyched up and "ready."

  • Wishing the best for you - having a vaginal birth would be much better on the recovery side... but I bet you are totally itching to see your babies.

  • Ugh, that stinks.  Keep your chin up, and I'll say a prayer you get that nice goosh really soon!!

(I know it sounds gross, but that is what its like!)

  • Oh no!  I can only imagine how disappointing that is for you both!  Congrats for keeping those babies cooking so long.  They must love it in there!  I hope you get to meet them soon.

  • Oh that totally stinks!  All that excitement and then they tell you to go home?  ugh!!  I would be so annoyed!

I will be sending you good water breaking vibes tonight! haha!!  Keep us posted:)

  • Please keep us updated. sending lots of T&P your way for 2 healthy bundles that come sooner rather than later.
  • Sending positive labor vibes your way.  Hope you are delivering safely and happily soon!
  • I appreciate the support! H and I were surprised we were going home, too! I thought this was it. My doctor doesn't push c-sections because she had a vaginal twin delivery and just doesn't think they are necessary. I do appreciate that, but if she offered a c-section I would have taken it. I know next week if I am in the same situation it will be a more realistic option. I guess it is better to wait than to rush it, but this is tough!
  • What a bummer!!  But I'm sending lots of labor vibes your way!  I'd be trying every natural induction technique possible at this point!   (((HUGS)))

This didn't work for me.  Nor did walking, eating pineapple, or any of the other things they recommend (the only thing I refused to do was Castor Oil).  I hope that your labor starts soon on its own and that it is short, painless, and goes very very smoothly!  You deserve all of that and more after carrying twins for 38 weeks!

  • ::shimmies up some labor mojo::
