I'm Trapped!

Ok maybe not completely trapped my the front door to my house is frozen shut. I could get out the back but I need the shovel that is outside my frozen front door.

Ah the joys of living across from the water..

How is everyone else doing this fine snowy morning?

Re: I'm Trapped!

  • I am SOOOO over this snow! I went out to clear my car off and shovel around it and only got 1/2 way done. The snow was up to my shins and even up to my knees in some areas. I'll be having another work from home day today.
  • This snow has got to go.  I have one grumpy husband.  He works in Boston and we live in Nashua, NH.  So to avoid the ridiculous traffic, he takes the mbta commuter train from North Billerica (about a 25 minute drive from the house on a good day).  He left the house at 6:00 this morning.  When he got to the train station (an hour later) he found out they cancelled the next 3 trains into the city and the rest were running 45-60 minutes behind.  So when I talked to him, he was still in Billerica waiting for the train that is expected but may or may not show up at 9:45.  If the trains going into the city are that behind, it means his commute home with be equally as bad, which means a long night of me and a grumpy man....fun stuff.  I told him to call his boss and say nevermind, I am going home

  • This winter has cured my desire to live in New England!  I just said to Ken last night, "aren't you glad we don't live in Boston?"  He said, "well we'd be off work" to which I replied, "yeah, but I would be in school until July!!!"

I talked to my aunt and uncle in Ipswich last night and they told me they had some snow saved just for me!  I would imagine they have enough snow for everybody!!!

  • I had the easiest commute I've had since moving a month ago, which is kind of hilarious to me. I take the bus, and because there were no cars on the road, we made it in record time.  I'm sure I'll take it up the pooper on the way home, but at least something went smoothly.

I am not amused by all this snow, though.  We need a couple of 40 degree days soon.

I was thinking this too. It's so sad that we are looking forward to 40 degree weather.

  • ughhhhhh HATE HATE HATE snow...but this too was my best drive into work.....neighbor/boss/friend cleaned off my car off but didnt do the right side....that had knee deep snow on the side of it about a foot away from my car......so i had to basically lean across/into the bank to clean my right windows off, then the plow guy came...so i was late...not because of the slippery roads (less slippary than usual) but because the sander/plow blocked me in behind my car then cleared it which was nice :)

should have taken a photo of our bay window....WHOLE window, except for like 6in at the top...COVERED with snow....cant see outside...SO funny!

  • Wednesday, which happens to be groundhog day, is supposed to be a high of 46 and the low is even above freezing.  Fox said we are going to get two straight days without snow...wahoo!!!  2 whole days!

Now that's just crazy talk! But it would be pretty effing sweet.

Edited to add: I just looked at weather.com, and they're saying Wednesday is going to be 24 with few snow showers.  I KNEW  Fox couldn't be trusted.   :)

  • Thankfully the western side of the state didn't get hit as bad as the rest.

So my morning wasn't so bad.

  • I am SO sick of snow! They said 3-6 inches...sure we have over a foot. If DH wasn't home I wouldn't be at work. I drive a Ford Escape and thanks to Mr. Plowman the end of the driveway was up to my bumper deep from the road being plowed. It was fun even trying to get out of the house with the snow blocking the storm door at least six inches high.
