starting to use things from my Sept shower

and it is amazing!!!! We had so much stuff still in boxes after my bridal shower because our old apt just didn't have the room or I didn't even want to take it all out when I knew we were moving after the wedding. Now we are in the new place and I LOVE using all of this stuff! Ahhh my towels.... soooo soft!

Anyone else just getting to shower stuff too?

  • We bought a house a year before the wedding but I remember the feeling of putting all the new stuff in place, and bringing the old stuff out to the garage!  We have not used everything yet, but we are trying to.

The new bedding and new towels were the best things!

IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
  • My shower was in August, and I waited til after the wedding before touching almost everything.  It felt like Christmas times ten!  I still get happy about using the gifts :)
  • I didnt use most of our gifts until after christmas - it felt so good to get things put away and start using them, although I'll admit I haven't used everything yet.
  • We broke into that stuff on the 28th. Dave Could. Not. WAIT. to get his hands on the knife set. He still makes this little "aaahhhhh" noise when he dices something. What a nerd.

I love that feeling! There are some things we are just starting to use from the wedding/shower. And some we haven't had a chance to use. The best is decorative stuff. I keep switching out the placemats and runner on our table because we got several kinds.

Oh and anything in the kitchen... I still need to use our Magic Bullet and our pasta bowl set. Hubs and I really enjoyed using or multi-purpose tri-ply pot the first time too. OH! And our ice tea glasses and wine glasses... before I just had crappy, cheap glasses that were too fragile.

  • I think I'm in love with the crockpot I got and used for the first time last week.  It's so easy!

  • Yes! I love using our dishes and flatware...so simple, but so much better than the stuff we were using from Ikea. We still have gifts piled up in the spare room (mostly fine china, crystal, and that sort of thing) until we have storage for the dining room and a bigger table and new chairs so we can actually use the stuff when people come over. :)
