Would it be weird?

So there is this girl that I had 2 classes with last semester and I kind of got to know her.  

This semester I have 2 classes with her as well and we eat lunch together two days a week.  I like her and want to be friends with her.

Would it be weird if I made her a cake for her birthday in a couple of weeks?  She was talking today about wanting a rainbow cake, so I was thinking I could make some rainbow cupcakes and bring them too her.  Too weird?

yeah i have to go with completely sweet too.  it's always nice to have people remember your birthday and do something special.

I don't think it's weird.  I still have some friends from college.  We met in a class and then had another class and hung out at lunch and, voila, friends.

This is how I met my BFF.  Not by baking her a cake, but having classes with her a couple semesters in a row.

I think that is a really sweet gesture...
