Nothing super crazy, but I'm starting to feel ridiculous with all this hair. Often I love it, but I don't think it's age -appropriate for me anymore.
Maybe three inches?

It grows back. It will be ok!

I think that's a great suggestion!
I totally get the security blanket thing because I am the same way. Your hair actually looks like it might be the same length as mine right now. I've been thinking about a "big" cut, too. The last time I got it cut I only got 2 inches off, which sounded like soooo much to me at the time. I regretted not getting more, though, because you really couldn't tell.
Go for it! :-)

I don't think so because it would still be past your shoulders, right?
And as much as I love having super long hair myself, I do have to admit that it has a lot more volume when it's shorter.
Well, I can't do updos myself, but my hair is closer to chin length.
(Professionals could actually do an updo even with my short hair.) I can put my hair in a ponytail, straighten it, flip it out, use clips, etc. As long as it's to your shoulders, it's still really versatile! And if you regret it, the good news is it will be back!

I'd say go 4-6" shorter. I think shoulder length hair would look great on you!
As long as its past your shoulders, you should still be able to style it up or down. Every time I go for a chop, I am amazed by how much less time it takes to shampoo, dry and style shorter hair! And I have tons more volume at the roots because it isn't so weighed down.
Go for it! It always grows back! (coming from the girl who cut 10+" after the wedding...grew it back out and just chopped another 5-6")
I'd say go for 6 inches. Your hair is really long, so you won't notice a different if you only cut a few inches.
