Pink spot on dogs lip, anyone have experience with this?
Our little boy Chase has a spot on his lip and we are trying to figure out if its worth a vet visit. We originally though it was just a cut that was healing from playing with his sister but it's not going away. Its not really raised, but you can feel it a bit. It has not gotten any bigger over the last 2 weeks. I have read anything from a bald spot that comes with age (he's 6), to an abscess, to papilloma, to an allergic reaction to plastic bowls.
Any thoughts? I've been on the road for work all week and will probably end up taking him in next week.

My kitty just had one of these. I ended up taking her to the vet after it got a little bigger. It was just a zit like cyst and they tried to pop it, but it wasnt ready yet. They sent her home with some antibiotics just in case, it ended up going away.
I would watch it for a couple more days, if it gets bigger bring him in.
Ellie has a spot that looks exactly like that on her lip. I asked the vet and she said it was a cold sore. She said it would eventually go away on it's own and it was nothing to worry about. It's been a year - I think that may not be true.
