Can I vent please?

Today I had LOTS of students in the store spending their "refunds" from their student loans/scholorships. This would not usually bother me because I spent a little of my loan money on clothes.

But then someone told me it wasn't loan money, it was her Pell Grant money (as in Taxpayer money) and that she still need to hit Coach before they left the mall. She spent nearly $300 in my store alone. Seriously? I am glad to see our tax dollars educating America's underprivileged youth. UGH. Thank you for listening, I didn't want to vent this on FB.

Re: Can I vent please?

  • UGH! I know someone that used to do that. By the end of the semester, she'd be hitting us all up for money because she had none, and her parents could not afford to give her anything. She finally *gasp* wound up having to get a job on the weekends in order to be able to eat and pay her tuition.
  • Kills me.

    Ugh.

  • That's frustrating.  We are living off one non-profit salary while I go back to school full-time.  I use loan money to pay my tuition, fees, buy books, and cover housing on my clinic rotations.  Ugh.  Pell grant money?!? Seriously?!?

  • I know someone who did that. She is a single Mom and already has a house, granted it is a fixer upper, but still. And I don't think she has even completed her degree yet. She changes her mind more than I change my clothes in a day.
