So, is it too soon for me to be an AW?

I know I'm new, but I'm so excited that I needed to share!

DH and I went out to breakfast this morning and then decided to swing by our new neighborhood to see how things are going with our house.  We have had a lot of snow in our area, so we weren't sure how much they were able to do during the last few days.  We were very happy to see this:

(I know it doesn't look like much, but the last time we were there it was only a pile of dirt.)

As we pulled up, DH turned to me and said, "Wow, this whole buying a house thing just got a little more...concrete."

  • Yay for progress! And I like that your DH is punny.

  • Very cool!  Did you guys design the house?  What style are you going with?

  • That's awesome! My friend and her husband had their house built from scratch, and it was so much fun to see the pictures of the progress. Keep sharing! Smile

  • I will definitely keep sharing!

No, we didn't design it.  It's actually a new townhouse model from Ryan Homes called the Wexford.  I guess you could say that the exterior is more on the traditional side than contemporary (i.e. brick, shutters, and all that jazz).  Here's the floor plan in case you're interested (we're getting the optional 4 foot extension): http://tinyurl.com/46y5my9

The neighborhood is new, but in an extremely established area that is a great location for us.  It has a mix of townhouses and single family homes, which we liked.  All of the older homes we were looking at nearby were pretty much in the same price range as the new construction, so after writing out a pro/con list we decided to go for the new.  I know that a lot of people don't have faith in builders these days, but Ryan has a great reputation so hopefully all will go well.

The lumber is being delivered this week so I'll have more pictures to post soon!
