Brain cells post baby

I literally have none.  As proven after today's Make Thyme visit.  Seriously, where do they all go?  Maybe we "give" them to our child and they get smart??

Re: Brain cells post baby

  • Seriously! I feel like a complete idiot after having DD! I blame sleep deprivation.

  • I don't have sleep deprivation as an excuse anymore but I still can't remember shiit.  A couple of weeks ago I forgot to buy milk at the grocery store...the whole reason I went was to get milk, and it was written on my list!  D'oh!

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one.  Some days I get seriously worried about my brain.  The other day I went to the wrong place for a meeting even though it clearly said in the email where it was and was 20 minutes late.  I couldn't explain what happened except that I'm a total spazz these days; it was embarrassing!

  • Mine is gone, post baby and now in pregnancy. I always feel like I need to apologize after talking to people. I feel like I'm in a daze and I don't hear half of what they're saying and my responses never make sense.

Lets not forget that as a teacher, I have taught the wrong thing 3 times this year, hahahaha.

  • I've noticed not being able to come up with words, or only being able to say a word close to the word I want.  The other day I wanted to say something to my husband about a "reciprocating g saw" and said ....a word I now can't remember. I wish that was a joke, but it's not. I hope my brain cells are being transferred to baby V through breast milk. Tongue Tied

  • I remember reading that pregnancy changes a mother's brain volume -- I think for me mine just never went back to normal :)

  • Ugh, I always say the wrong things etc and today I started to undo my seltbeat when we were down the road from the post office. DH was driving and I said, "I'll just jump out and put these envelopes in the mail." Next thing you know, b/c I had said that my body just started to do it. DH was like "umm, could you please remain seated until the ride comes to a complete stop?"
  • A friend of mine who has two boys (9 and 5 years old) says it takes at least three years before your brain comes back. I sure do miss mine.
