Just planted...

A hydrangea in the back yard, and DH and I planted jalape?os and lavender in plant starters.

Re: Just planted...

  • Keep your eye on the hydrangea.  They aren't normally planted in winter. Charlotte (which is my hometown) always gets late frosts in spring that do lots of garden damage, so be sure to protect it with blankets.  Also be sure the roots are well mulched.
  • Aww man... Lowes told me to plant it now! Thats why I bought it. Everything else was wait for late March. I just bought one though so if it dies it wont be a huge loss.
  • I think the hydrangea will be fine. It's the peppers I'd worry about.

  • Peppers are inside for 8-10 weeks I think. so they should be fine when it's time to go in the ground.. I hope! (I am not a big Gardner I just thought it would be fun! It is nice to hear you say that my hydrangea should be okay. It was 70 yesterday and today its pretty Chilly! Silly winter :-(

Ok, my bad, I misunderstood about the peppers.

The hydrangea should be fine provided it is hardened off (acclimated) and dormant (no leaves or flowers).

  • Why do I live in Michigan?!

These warmer zones posts make me more winter-stir crazy.

Enjoy your new plants!  Peppers are fun.
