Super Bowl plans and menus

What are you doing on Super Bowl Sunday?  If you are going to a party and bringing a dish to pass, what are you bringing?

Re: Super Bowl plans and menus

  • Heh... our plans are up in the air.  We might invite another couple over.  Not sure what we'd eat.  Maybe chili?

We should probably make some plans pretty soon though, I suppose!

  • We're going to a friend's house that always hosts Super Bowl every year.  Each year there's a food theme, and people bring a dish with that theme.  This year, it's pizza.  I'm bringing a Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza.  Should be good!

  • We're hosting a party... I'm going to be making food that is local to the teams playing. So, things like brats and sauerkraut, beer-cheese soup, pierogis, etc. Any other ideas are welcomed!

  • Kasa, we don't have plans set in stone yet either.

H wants to make sausage bread for our dish to pass.  Yay for him taking charge on that one.

  • I am having a candle party in early afternoon before all the big super bowl parties. I just watch it at home. We have never been invited to a party before so I guess the group of people we hang out with don't care much about football or just stay home like we do.

  • H and I just watch the game at home.  I was thinking about making pulled pork sandwiches.  Maybe I'll add some sweet potato wedges with it.

  • We got invited to our friend's party down by Detroit, but it being a Sunday night, probably won't make the trek down. So not sure what our plans will be yet. All this yummy food is making me hungry for lunch!
  • We always get together with the same group of couples - none that we are particularly close to, but it is nice to get together with them ever so often and this has become a tradition. Except this year it will be a bunch of pregnant women and their husbands...and XN and I. Yee-haw.

We're probably bringing my world-famous white chicken chili.

  • I have no plans Crying No one we know is having a party or  we are just not getting invited anywhere.  It is hard with the kids though.

I thought about having a pre- Super Bowl party in the afternoon, strictly for the food. I really want snackies, apps, and such. I think I will do something for Brian and I.  Maybe various things for lunch, dinner, and the game.

  • Well, usually we always go to Andy's grandparents for the Super Bowl, but I will be traveling back from Virginia on Sunday.  I land around halftime and then we'll just watch the rest of the game at our house.

As for menu, Buffalo Chicken Dip is my favorite dish to pass at a sports gathering.

I'm obsessed.  I've made that dip for the last 3 parties I've had at my house in the past 2 months...Smile
