LOVED it! I'm so tempted to go out and buy skis, but I know it's way cheaper to just rent them. 

do any of you snowshoe or XC ski?

I have gone XC skiing once.  I'd love to try it again.

I went a couple of times last year and want to go this year. We have just been so busy! I think we will go once or twice in February. Glad you enjoyed it, Wendy!

I used to in high school (just once in awhile), but haven't since. I would love to go again! Where did you go? Were you able to rent skis?

We went to Pigeon Creek http://www.co.ottawa.mi.us/ParksVI/Parks/pigeoncreek.htm and rented the skis, it was only like $8 for two hours.

I love XC skiing! I've only been out once this season so far though, and am itching to go again. I'm always looking for someone to go with too, I know we tried last winter, but maybe we can work on a XC skiing meet up?

I have snowshoed in the Rocky Mountains a couple of times with XN's family, and it's pretty awesome. The thought to do it around here didn't even cross my mind, honestly, but I'm sure it's just as fun.

We do both - we own snowshoes but don't own XC skis though, so we have to rent those when we go.  We'd love to do so snowshoe hiking and spending the overnight in a cabin, like in the Porcupine Mtns but haven't made the trek yet.
