how to transfer itunes to new computer?

i am really an idiot when it comes to computers. I will be getting a new computer soon and I have no idea how to transfer all of my music/videos etc from itunes to a new computer. Are there any links or youtube videos out there? is it as simple as transferring the files to a flash drive?

There is a "simple" way to do it with the iPod itself, (hopefully someone can explain that to you). I couldn't figure out how to do it right, so I just opened the folder where the music was on my old computer and used a flashdrive to transfer it all.  I have about 2500 songs and it didn't take *too* long...

 I just tried this and while everything moved over to my new computer none of the songs will open and says it cannot find the original source.  Hmmmmmm

I haven't done it in a while, but I have put my songs on a flash drive, then put them on my new computer and imported them into itunes with no problem.  I'm not sure why it didn't work for the PP, unless iTunes has changed.
