Hello,
I am planning on a three day vacation to your part of the world this summer, and would like some tips on where to stay/eat and basic tourist info that I can't get through google. Any information will be appreciated!I have tentative plans to see a concert Saturday night (of Montreal), but nothing is set in stone.
TIA.
Re: Visiting May 5-8th.
This board is slloooow. lol.
I was thinking about stay at the Marriott downtown, or the Westin. I know nothing about these, and am very cautious of website testimonials. Anyone stayed there?
Hah, it is slow! I haven't stayed at either, but which Westin are you thinking of staying in (Mich Ave or Dearborn).
All 3 (2-Westin and Marriot) are great locations. Are you a baseball fan? Have you up in the Hancock or Sears Tower? Both give gorgeous views of the city. A ferris while ride at Navy Pier is always fun/cute/romantic.
Any types of food you love? Are you willing to take public transit? (Bus and/or train?)

Yes! You're coming the best weekend = Celtic Fest!! It's truly the best festival each summer. It's at Grant Park downtown and they have lots of music, food, drinks, competitions, etc. It's wonderful and free and lasts all day and into the night.
Also, head up to the Signature Lounge at the John Hancock Tower and have dinner or just dessert and sit next to the window - it's really romantic and you can look out over the city.
If you're looking for something romantic, they'll have carriage rides starting from around the John Hancock Tower, next to the Water Tower Place. Also, there is jazz music and fun dancing at the Drake Hotel downtown. It's free, you just have to buy a drink.
Have fun!
