Their advertisements for the "surprise" trip, where they tell the kids they're going to Disney in a couple hours on Christmas morning and just showing up to the airport and saying they're flying to Disney are so cool! I totally want to try that in a couple of years. It just seems like the coolest way to pop a vacation on the kids! I don't know if I could organize the packing that well on the DL though you know?

We did in Feb. 2009! The kids were 10 & 11 (+A but she was little). It was soooooooo hard not to slip but we did it! I arranged it with the kids teachers, their dad & grandma was in on it. We lived in Swanton and were flying out of Toledo. We told the kids they had a dentist appt. that morning and that we would take them to school afterwards. Not a big deal b/c our dentist was in Swanton on Airport Hwy. The evening b/f Ron packed all the suitcases in the car. The morning we left I ran to get "milk" but instead ran up to the school to get homework for the week. The teachers were awesome and 1 actually emailed me said he thought it was really cool we were doing this.
) I slipped the homework into the front of the suitcases and we were all set to go to the dentist.
Ron made a "wrong" turn and was like shoot I turned right instead of left, I guess we can just turn around here. We turned into the airport. He then pulled into a parking spot and said "screw it, while we are here let's just go to Disney!!" Both kids just stared at him like he was joking! Neither said anything and just sat there dumbfounded, neither of them moved. Ron got out of the car and started unloading the suitcases and it was then they realized!! It was great! I did tape it and it wasn't as exciting as the commercials .. haha! I should see if I can find it easily!
It was hard keeping a secret but so worth it!
