rental insurance company- who do you use?

There are so many places to get renters insurance- I just want to be sure we use a company that isnt going to feel like a root canal if I need to file a claim. Anyone have good/bad experiences with a particular company?

Re: rental insurance company- who do you use?

  • I used AAA or Travelers Insurance.  It was very cheap, but I did not have any claims, so not experience at all with claims.  Good luck!

  • We had Erie for renter's insurance, and now use them for homeowner's insurance.   My parents have had them for years (for homeowner's and car) and no problems with claims.

    Cancer sucks.
  • Can you use the same company you have your car insurance with? I had my car insured at Erie and when I got renters insurance I got a discount so my payments were the same.  The renters insurance was basically free.

This was also true for me when I had State Farm.
