CSA that delivers to Santa Clara county?

Anyone have a good CSA that they would recommend?  We like going to the farmers market every week, but it would be nice to get a weekly box in addition.  My goal for this year is to eat more fruit and veggies.  =P

Re: CSA that delivers to Santa Clara county?

  • We got delivery from Farm Fresh to You.  It was just too hard for us to eat the veggies we weren't used to and everything went to waste.
  • Go to localharvest.org. There's a tool there that lets you enter your zipcode and a bunch of CSA's come up that deliver in your area. You can see their delivery days/locations, cost, reviews, etc. Very handy.
  • I use eating with the seasons - eatwiththeseasons.com. I don't know if they deliver, they deliver to my office b/c so many of us use them, but i htink they have quite a few pick up spots throughout the bay area. What i love about them is you get to choose what you want each week from their available produce. It really helps us get our fruits and veggies in, but also doesn't mean we'll end up with stuff we just don't like. I've been doing it about a year now and i"m super happy.

  • I like localharvest.org as a resource.

We get twice-a-month deliveries from Farm Fresh to You and I LOVE them. They're about to start offering eggs and they offer beef, too. I look online the week of our delivery and plan our menus for two weeks based on what comes in the box. Since I've been doing that our grocery bill has dropped, we eat a wider variety, and we waste less.

You can either have a regular delivery set up like we do, or you can just have it delivered as needed (I have friends who travel a lot and only have deliveries when they're in town, which is never the same two months in a row)

    good luck!
