I love the classic look of a fireplace in a home but yet most south Florida homes don't come with one. I'm currently on the search for my first home and although I would love to have a fireplace , Its highly unlikely . Therefore, I was looking for some advice on how to create a similar look or focal point in a living room . I know I haven't found my home yet and I shouldn't be thinking of how to decorate a home that doesn't yet exist but that's kind of how I work. I like to envision things start to finish .( of course always leaving room for creativity and spontaneity .) Therfore,I'm on the hunt for ideas. I think that although it wouldn't be a deal breaker having an idea of how I'd like to decorate my home would definetley help.Any suggestions ? Thanks in advance
Re: decorating advice in SFL
Yeah, it really nevers gets cold enough for a fire down here
You could always just get a mantel. Just attach it to the wall and maybe build a little ledge under it that you could put some candles on, or use a decorative plate of some kind (like metal plate to hang on the wall under the mantel.)
Or you could a built in like this:
HTH!
