Saw your siggy. Where did you go in Costa Rica. We have not done a romantic honeymoon yet and are really interested in Costa Rica.

Also did I remember correctly that your future plan is to go to Australia? I went in 2002 for 3 weeks and had a blast. Vistited my cousin there in Cairns. Her husband ended up being the one to give me away at my wedding. I also vistied Alice Springs, Darwin and Sydney.

Re: *Dyork*

  • We stayed at an all inclusive resort: Playa Conchal. Its on the western side of the country (along the pacific ocean). So we flew in at Liberia. I wanna say its about 5hrs from San Jose.

We loved it though. The place we went ziplining and did all the spa stuff was at Rincon de la Vieja. Probably cost more money, and I don't know if it was all inclusive, but it seemed MORE of a rain forest setting since it's not along the ocean, and at the base of a volcano. Either way I loved both places.

We do hope to visit Australia! Dave has been dying to get there for years now, so hopefully we can make that trip within the next couple years. I'll have to look up the places you suggested since all I know is Sydney.  It's terrible and ignorant of me, but only MORE of a reason on why I need to travel.

  • Thanks. Like you I have not looked in to Costa Rica much yet.

Alice Springs is the city for getting to Ayers Rock (Uluru - aboriginal name) and Kings Canyon. I joined a "backpackers" trip for camping under the stars. (Backpacker is either a company or type of trip but not really backpacking. They are small bus tours of about a dozen people who all help cook at the camp site, etc. You can rent a sleeping bag if needed.) In Darwin I went to Kakadu National Park for swimming to a waterfall, hike through the rainforest, bird watching, and samll hikes in the hills. I have heard New Zealand is prettier than Australia. We hope to go to both in a few years when my cousin moves back there.
