Okay, I'll post this on the Oregon Bump board too...
I'm looking for a natural-birth friendly OB or a Midwife in PDX. We live in SE PDX and I'm on BlueCross/BlueShield. Still looking into which hospitals I can deliver at. Any info on that would help too! I've heard good things about Emanuel.
Thanks Ladies!

Re: BCBS OB/Midwife
I absolutely love my OB, Dr. Goodreau at Legacy Mt. Hood. I ended up with an induction, but she only recommended it (for restricted growth) and left me with the option of whether or not to do it. She then used a Foley buld to dialate me rather than Cervadil. She was very good at making sure I avoided an episiotomy and left my pain control options up in the air. The nurses at Mt. Hood were very helpful in helping me labor naturally (jetted tub, birthing ball, breathing techniques, massage etc.) I did end up with an epi because at 6 cm I was having stacking contractions with less than 10 seconds between them, but it was absolutely not forced or even encouraged.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Goodreau and everyone at Legacy Mt. Hood and I cannot recommend them enough. Let me know if you have any more questions!
