Engineering jobs in the Research Triangle?

Hello, NC! I posted this question a couple of months ago but thought I'd ask again since it's the new year and maybe some things have opened up.

We live in the Southwest and would like to move to the Raleigh/Durham area when my DH graduates in May, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Aerospace Engineering.

Do any of you know of any places hiring MEs?

Thank you!

Re: Engineering jobs in the Research Triangle?

  • Hey there! I will respond because my husband was in a similar situation.  I think engineering jobs can be hard to find in the RTP especially with people graduating from NC State and trying to stay in the area. Does your husband have any experience or had any internships?  That can really help his chances in a entry level job.  We ended up moving to Winston-Salem and my husband was able to find something.  His company is hiring but I think it is mostly for CAD.   I know when my husband was getting ready to graduate, he went to the Engineering Career Fair on campus.  Good luck!
  • The North Carolina Biotechnology Center is a great resource to find jobs in RTP.  I just did a quick search on their website for you and this is what I got back:

    NC Biotech

I found my job on that website when I couldn't find anything else on Monster or Career Builder.  Some companies are more inclined to use their website instead of the big ones since it's local.

  • Thank you both!

He actually just missed the career fair - we learned on Monday that it was on Wednesday, and by that time it was just too late to get everything together. It's definitely hard job searching from 2000 miles away!
