My backyard is a pool.

Every time it barely rains a section of my backyard turns into a pool. How can I fix this without making my yard look horrible?

  • Without seeing it, the only recommendation I have is to build up where the water pools with top soil then put down grass seed or sod. The water is collecting there for a reason so to fix the problem, you need to find out all the details first

  • I would evaluate the drainage situtation.  Where is the water coming from?  What is stopping it from draining?  Is it the soil type or some sort of obstruction on a downhill portion?  Maybe a French drain?  Maybe regrading?

This simple regrading procedure could be all you need. Sounds like a low spot.
