I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. Mostly because a) Parker is adorable and his expressions crack me up, and b) I appreciate your honesty in talking about what it is like to be a stay-at-home mom, the trials of sleeping, breastfeeding, etc. As we get closer to TTC, I love reading about first moms experiences, and even though everyone has a different experience, it is nice to hear what others go through.
Here's hoping that Parker starts sleeping better soon!
Re: **misspippa**
Hey! Thank you so much, that means so much, really. I am the same way and always like reading other mom's experiences so I have tried to write a lot about mine. I love being his mom and feel lucky to stay home with him, but it isn't easy and it is nice to have a place to talk about everything.
Thank you about the sleep, it has been rough, I know he loves hanging out with me a lot but geez!!
I know it is temporary though.
Thanks for the nice message, it was very sweet of you.

Well, you have the right attitude about the sleeping; "this too shall pass". But yeah, the lack of sleep is probably the biggest thing that I worry about when it comes to having kids, but it sounds like you guys are doing the best you can with it. Yeah, I guess he just loves his mommy so much he can't stand to sleep (at night or during the day) because he doesn't want to miss out:)
If it is any consolation, my niece was a "power-napper" too, in the first 6-9 months she would just take 2 20-30 minute naps, and was good to go. She did outgrow it though!
I guess right?!
I am holding onto the idea that once he is more mobile he will tire himself out and want to nap more eventually, but I am glad to know I am not the only one that has a cat napper!
For a while it was hard because I felt like I didn't do what I needed to do for him to learn how to nap(he napped on us the first 3 months basically because otherwise he would just scream). But my pedi said that some babies just don't nap(or sleep in general) as much as others... Maybe our next one will sleep 4 hours during the day and 12 hours at night like a lot of my friend's babies.
That is the biggest thing I have learned as a new mom, is that all babies are different and there isn't one way to do things. We are doing what works for us and I am working on not letting it bother me when people give unwanted advice or tell me I am not doing something right.
When are you guys thinking about TTC? I think it is great that you are thinking about all of this now.

Sorry, I was away from the computer.
Yeah, I liked that post about "things I have learned". I think that will be the biggest thing for me, because I'm such a planner, I sometimes think I know what to expect. And it is just not possible to predict exactly what having a child will be like....so we just have to take the plunge!
Probably sometime this year....possibly going off the pill in the Spring and then really trying in the Fall. We'll see! I'm definitely feeling more ready than I ever have before, and that is a pretty cool feeling!
