Recommend your double stroller....

We need to buy a double stroller for dd and the new baby coming to use when we go out with both kids. Not sure really sure if we should get a side by side one of the ones that are front and back seat? And what brand do you like best? TIA!

Re: Recommend your double stroller....

  • I have a Chicco side by side and love it!

  • I didn't get one, since my oldest was 3 when I had the baby.  She liked being able to walk with me and felt more like a big girl when the baby was in the stroller.

My friends have the Graco double and love it

  • I had the Graco DuoGlider (front and back) and hated it.  It was too bulky, hard to control and was hard to fit in the car even with an SUV.  It took up most of the trunk.  I got lucky this summer and got a PegPerego Aria side by side double stroller on Craigslist for $60.  It was in perfect condition and I LOVE it.  It is super easy to steer, fits through all doors, has a large basket underneath to hold things, weighs about 10 pounds and folds completely flat.  Now, I would not want to pay full price, but it is the best stroller I have used.

I have the phil & ted sport stroller and absolutely love that it is so versatile. Christian was 2.5 yrs. when Gianna was born and was really starting to not like to sit in a stroller anymore. I like that this can switch to accommodate a range of kids in different stages (came in handle at the park with a friend and her kids). Best value for the money IMO. Now I just use it as a single but I have the attachment that I bring with me in case he does want to sit.

  • Oh yeah they also sell an attachment that allows it to fit an infant car seat. I bought that and used it a lot.

  • I have the Baby trend Sit & Stand Deluxe - it can hold the infant car seat in the front (the new version might go in the back, don't remember). i got it at a consignment sale for $75, great condition. Now we're moving Maddy to a regular seat and it has 2 full seats that recline, plus the back converts to the stand area as Ben gets older. My kids are close enough in age that Ben still likes the stroller. REVIEW: it's ok. It's heavy, bulky (but I have 2 SUVs), and hard to steer with infant seat up front b/c of weight distribution. But it works.

I'm on a craigslist hunt this summer for that Peg Perego Aria side by side - I think it will be easier as they are older.  Or something lightweight and side by side.
