Snow Day!

Is anybody else buried in snow? Did it hit the East Coast yet? DH had to shovel a section of the yard so our little miss princess could have a place to pee. On top of our awesome snow dumpage, my furnace died. We are surviving on space heaters ATM, and we are supposed to be getting a new furnace installed today.

  • Our dogs have potty paths throughout the yard.

    Suckola about the furnace! Brrr.

  • I am irrationally jealous of all the people with snow days today.  I'm at work, and grumpy about it.  I was so looking forward to a day off.  They predicted ice and snow for MD and then I woke up to find...rain.

Enjoy your snow!  Sorry about the furnace situation.  At least you get some good snuggling to keep warm. :-)

  • It hit the East coast.  But didn't really dump a lot on us.  Enough to cancel my regular morning train and make commuting hell.  *Luckily* the trains were back up within 2 hours and I made it to work by lunch time!

  • I was sorta wondering how you were doing Dats. We're snowed in too, although our heat is fine so I feel bad for you on that note. Hope it gets fixed sooner rather than later. Hubby got up early and snowblowed a path before trudging to work this morning, but the dogs aren't lucky enough to have a path shoveled for them. That's one thing about having bigger dogs, the can get around for the most part. :)

  • I was thinking this morning how much I would lurve a snow day, but will never get them now that I work in Sacramento.  We had 1-2 each year when I worked in the foothills, but because the courts closed less frequently than our government offices, I usually had to go to court anyway!  One year I had a 3 hour hearing in the dark with no power in the courthouse.  On a snow day.  With no heat, obvs.  And the defendant chose that day of all days to actually show up for court.  It sucked!

  • Well our new furnace is hooked up and running, but the guy will be back tomorrow to finish other details like ductwork repair and installing the new thermostat. At least we have heat!

Ah yes, the joys of dogs. Datsyuk is loving the snow, he never wants to come back inside. We've got a foot of it, and he could not be happier. I don't think I've ever seen him this excited. Dixie, however, is hating it. It's pretty funny to watch.

I've been good, just really busy and not always able to get to the computer. I lurk at night though, so I see most of the news. My practice is growing, albeit slowly. We are seeing DSD often, so that's happy and exciting. If anyone's been wondering about our luck TTC, I'm still getting BFN. DH got a job, but because he's the new kid he gets to work during the super bowl.

Yay, glad your furnace is hooked up!  I can't imagine being without heat during a storm.  (I saw you had space heaters at least.)

Good luck with TTC!  We're trying also.  The big thing everyone keeps telling us is to just relax, that worrying and stressing about it will make it less likely to happen.  My PCP doesn't even want me charting, because she said it'd stress me out.

DH made me stop charting. I only have a vague idea of when AF is due. I know I'm late and still getting BFN. But my last cycle ended up being 57 days (wtf?!?!) so now I have no idea.

Wow, that sucks.  Did your charts show ovulation?  I did one month, just to see if my chart would show clear ovulation.  H is cool with me using OPKs, so I just bought some cheapies on Amazon and will use those, I think starting day 8 or so.

  • He just wants me to relax and not think about it. I guess he thinks that if we just do it often enough, at some point it will work.
