a group of my friends has randomly started doing "progressive" get-togethers lately. One couple had a wine & cheese night, and then one couple threw a little after-party to a church event we all went to.
I've been suggested/volunteered as the next host, which I would love to do, but I need a cute theme!
The only think I can think of is English Tea Time. (quiches, finger foods, and of course, tea), but I'm afraid it's too close to the wine & cheese idea... however, I do have an amazing selection of teas - I'm talking over 30 loose-leaf teas.
It's not really limited, it can be afternoon, evening, etc.. The group is adults only (but church going adults...don't get carried away :-p).
What have been some of your favorite party themes?
Re: need theme ideas
I think tea time is totally your ticket...I don't think that's close to wine and cheese at all
Fondue Party
Mini or tasting party - Everything is bite sized, Sliders, Mini Cupcakes, Baked Mini Corndogs, Mini Pizzas. Pier 1 sells super cute tasting sets.
Mexican Fiesta with a taco bar and churros
I like the tea party idea a lot! with little cucumber sandwiches
or you could do a dessert party, and have mini dif desserts
I like the taco bar idea
or a brunch w mimosas?
If its a group of girls, I totally say do the tea time. I love tea and would be eager to try some of your selection! I've been to showers with this theme where the hostess found mismatched older tea saucers and cups at thrift stores and garage sales and they were super cute!
If its a couples thing, I'd go more towards the taco bar/fiesta idea and serve some margs and coronas.
