Mental block on a project

My boss assigned me this project for work, having to do with the housekeeping department.  I am totally mental blocking on it. 

The tricky thing is that I heard a rumor that she's going to eventually make me the manager in charge of housekeeping, which is good because it's more responsibility, but it's bad because it's currently done by coworker P.  My boss and P don't like each other (so so complicated - we all are in the same department and share an office), so I have no idea if P knows about boss's plan, or not.  That's probably why I'm blanking on this thing, because I don't want to get stuck in the middle of a bad place with boss and P.  But to turn down more responsibility is sort of suicidal, carreer-wise.

Ugh.

And, it just got better!

 

I did all this work on the project, hit "save", closed it, and now I can't find it on my computer!!!

Ugh that sucks...but maybe P is not doing a good job with it?

Oh, crap, I hope you found it! And I get not wanting to step on a coworker's toes, definitely, but you're right about career suicide. Do what you need to for your family.
