Engravings on your Ring(s)?

I often forget that my wedding band is engraved, so it's a nice "surprise" when it catches my eye.  Like just now I was putting on lotion and as my ring sat on my desk I saw the writing which always makes me pick it up and read it as if I don't know what it says lol

We both have our rings engraved; his says Love You and mine says To Pieces

Anyone else?

Re: Engravings on your Ring(s)?

  • Aww Kearstin!  I love that!  Fun post

Mine is not engraved, but I had Chavis's engraved to say "OH HAPPY DAY 10-10-10".  He has NO excuse to ever forget an anniversary! :)

  • Joe's says 10-10-10 but mine was too oddly shaped to be engraved... so I engraved mah fingah instead lol.

  • Bre - Oh Happy Day... made me do a little Sister Act over here!

Ana - LOVE the ink!!  That must have been pretty recent, right?  Because I remember the ink post I did a while nack on here and don't recall this one.

    haha Niiiice!

  • very cool!  But.... I have to ask... what did your tattoo artist say?  When I tried getting my foot (bottom) tattoo'd the tattoo artist refused.  He said, "any respectable tattoo artist won't do hands or feet.  If they do, they're ripping you off."  He explained that since we use our hands and feet so often (especially hands) the skin sloughs off so easily, and the ink doesn't get a chance to set properly.  Even if you wore socks or gloves and didn't use them for a few weeks, the tattoo won't last.  It smudges and fades very fast, and you may not even have a tattoo in a few years there.  Did your tattoo guy warn you about any of this, or was mine insane?

  • Oh yea... cheapest tattoo EVER ($30) lmao... actually, that's cheaper then the ring engraving would've been!

I have one on my foot by a pretty reputable artist and he never mentioned this.  I've had it for 12 years now, and it's still there, not faded at all.  I think that artist was on some sh!t to say that to you.

  • My ring is not engraved but Lances is. It has our initials and 10.23.10

  • I love looking at my engraving - it makes me so happy, I'm so glad we did it. Dom and I both have ours engraved with iloveyoumore - all one word, all one case. :)

Wait, did you mean that you were going to get the bottom of your foot tattooed?  That might be a bit different than just like the top of your foot.  My cousin has a foot tattoo of something latin.  She's had it for about 5 years now and it still looks really crisp and clear.

  • Nothing here, but I wish I did something on his. I don't think I could've without him finding out prior.

Are all these engravings on the inside of your rings or outside?

  • Ours are inside. And we chose the phrase together when we picked the rings. I also failed to mention that one says 10 and the other say 02 so together we have our date. 10/02/10
  • Neither of us has our rings engraved.  We would have loved to engrave mine, but it would not have been done in time.  I wanted to engrave my husband's ring, but was unable to because I purchased him the tungsten carbide and you cannot engrave that kind of ring.  Boo...

DH has a tungsten carbide ring and we got it engraved no problem. The place just has to have a special type of engraving machine. If you still want to get it engraved I'd call around and ask to see if someone else can do it.
