DW and I are trying to plan a vacation. DW has completely ruled out anything in the Caribbean. There are some islands I know I'd blackball (e.g., Jamaica). But I've done some research and I think that there are some places that would be okay, such as St. Barts, Curacao, or the USVI. Has anyone here had any Caribbean vacation experiences you'd care to share? TIA!
Re: Caribbean Vacations?
We have visited the USVI several times with no problems. I've felt more comfortable there than many states here, sadly. Our wedding was on St Croix, which also has a LGBT hotel. We've stayed at a a variety of places on all three islands and had a great time. St Thomas seemed to have the most visible queer population, but is also pretty busy.
I have heard good things about Curacao and St Maarten. I would not recommend the Bahamas, based on my experience. I like Aruba, but I've never been there as a couple so I can't vouch for it's lesbian-friendliness.
