I wish this board was more active. Come on, St. Louis gals! Let's introduce ourselves and maybe it will get more active.
I'm Sarah, 29, and recently married (November 2010). We own a home in Webster Groves (where we're both from, but didn't know each other until adulthood). I love cooking, gardening, reading, trying new restaurants, travel and my pets (2 dogs and 2 cats).
What about you?
I twitter randomly about gardening, sustainable living, local restaurants, cooking and more. Follow me on Twitter at Sarah_STL
Re: Roll Call! Anyone here?
Hi Sarah,
I'm Angela. My husband and I live in Benton Park West. We got married on New Year's Day. I love working out, reading, writing, wine tasting, new restaurants, traveling and a lot of other things. I have a dog, Cleo and a parakeet, CJ. CJ is sitting on my shoulder right now actually. I also love my neighborhood, it's an upcoming, becoming cool again.
Hi Sarah,
Cleo ignores the bird. He landed on her once and she ran away, then CJ flew away. Cleo is an Australian Shepherd mix, probably mixed with some sort of terrier. What type are your dogs?
I like Webster Groves too. It's cute over there! Historic. I went to Webster University. Have you read anything good lately? I'm reading The Power now. I'm in the 3rd chapter. I'm 30, btw.
Hiiii It's nice to see some actual people here!
I'm Kate. I'm 27. I live in Richmond Heights.
I loooooove Benton Park! And all city neighborhoods, really. I spent most of my adult years in the CWE. Sadly, I work in the far reaches of north county, so I felt like I couldn't live too far from 170. My dream house would either be in the CWE or Lafayette Square.
I also love the pretty homes in Webster. I guess I just love old houses
Hello everyone,
I'm Jen, my husband and I live in the St. Charles area, we moved here about 2 1/2 years ago. We have 2 cats. Hopefully the board will stay active for awhile!
GO! St. Louis Half Marathon-2:32:13
Omaha Half Marathon 9.23.12
awesome, more nesties here!
Most of my hobbies are outdoor-related, so I am very impatient for spring! I like bike riding (mostly around Forest Park, Clayton, and the CWE but I'm hoping to try some more trails this year!), hiking, dog walks, and exploring different areas around the city. I started my first vegetable & herb garden last year but lost 80% of my veggies to stink bugs but I'll be trying again this year. This is our second year in our house and I really want to fix up my back yard this year- it turned into a serious jungle last summer.
Till then, I'm cooped up in the house watching HGTV and various TLC shows.
what about y'all?
Hi Ladies,
I'm Sheri and I'm 26. I got married on 4/24/2010. We have lived in Imperial for almost 2 years now (originally from Fenton). I love cooking/baking, gardening flowers/vegetables, decorating/doing home improvements, and my newest hobby is sewing/crafts. I have 1 dog (a Corgi/German Shepard mix) and a small fish tank (hoping to get my 29gal freshwater fish tank running soon, then after that my 45gal saltwater fish tank). I am also into classic cars, sports cars, car shows, and drag racing.
I look forward to 'chatting' with you more often.
Glad to see so many gals coming out of the woodwork!
I also love outdoors stuff, like gardening. I had a good experience last year with bugs but the bunnies did some work. It's all fenced now and I'm ready to try again this year and expand too.
I'm a budding cook too, love trying new vegetarian recipes! Luckily my hubby doesn't mind eating vegetarian (he eats meat outside the home). I'm cooking my first Valentine's day meal (we've always gone out) next week. We're going to have fondue!
YAY!! More ladies here. Nice to mee you all.
Fondue! That will be so much fun. Sounds romantic.
I'm not sure what we are doing for Valentine's Day. Maybe the Fountain on Locust of the Chocolate Bar.
I know this board goes through upswings of being busy for awhile then months with no activity. I'm shocked to see this many people around!
Coming out of the woodwork as well...
I am new to STL, we just moved from Boston in July and have enjoyed it so far. We've been married since June 2008 and are both from the Midwest originally. We have two adorable dogs, and live in South City. We are currently renting, but if we end up buying (hopefully in the next year or so) I'd definitely love to be in CWE, Lafayette Square or Tower Grove.
I look forward to getting to know you all, I'll definitely try to check-in more.
Sorry I'm a little late here, but thought I would try to jump on the welcome wagon too. I haven't seen much activity on this board and I agree, it would be nice if there was more!
I'm Meagan, 27, married since June 12, 2010. I work at Barnes Jewish Hospital and live in Webster Groves. We are currently looking for an upgrade from our little 1.5 story bungalow to something a little bit more family friendly. We spend a lot of time looking at houses on line looking for "the ONE".
Together, we enjoy anything outside--concerts, festivals, walks, even just dining on a patio. We refer to our backyard as "the Beer Garden" and spend a lot of time with friends there. My husband loves running and cycling (he just completed the Go! St. Louis half marathon yesterday, in the top 10 percentile. I am SO proud of him!) and I try to tag along with him when I can. I like swimming and teach Lifeguard Certification classes a few weekends each Spring. I also love reading, gardening, and trying to support our local economy. We have a 3 year old red haired Golden Retriever named Seamus who is our baby for the time being--and I think he likes it that way!
