Why are some people so rude???

I don't understand where people get the idea that they can invite anyone they want to a party.  We are so way over the limit for Katie's b-day (which is now being held at Matt's cousin because we cannot fit 100+ people in our house) and my aunt seems to think that it is OK to bring her daughter's friend's 2 kids.  We already have 30+ kids under 6 attending.  I have had to cut my guest list because we can't afford more people.  This is JUST our families and our 3 closest friends (3 for Matt and 3 for me).

Now I have to call her and tell her that it is NOT OK to bring them.  She is the kind of person who tries to be nice and I am sure she was doing it for the other kids, but she is also the kind of person who is such a control freak that she dominates and takes EVERYTHING over.  UGH....Sorry I just had to vent....I am so ticked off.

Re: Why are some people so rude???

  • Sorry!  Hope you can talk your aunt out of bringing the extra kids.  It'll be a great party, I'm sure!  XOXOXO
  • That's always been a wonder to me when it comes to parties....why people think it's okay to just RSVP or show up with extra people that were not even invited.  Haven't these people ever thrown a party?
  • Sorry that you have to go through that!  I just don't understand how people do not know etiquette when it comes to these things...like Mindy said, you can't RSVP or show up with more people than you were invited for.  Hope this issue gets resolved and that your aunt will understand :).
  • Sorry you are going through this! ?Hope it all works out!
  • Sorry you are going through this.  I am sure that your party will be just wonderful.

I wanted to share a funny party story.  2 weeks ago I went to my friend's hubby's b-day party.  They had a taco man and other good food.  Well, apparently the next door neighbors were also having a party and only serving hot dogs.  So the neighbors were sending their guest over to my friend's party to have tacos.  They were banking on the fact that everyone would be too drunk to notice that a bunch of random people are taking their food.  Crazy huh!
