Re: leapfrog tag jr.

  • Ben got it for Christmas and he enjoys it! Sometimes he uses it to have the story read to him, other times he enjoys just touching the pictures to hear different characters talk. As he gets older he gets more patient with sitting through it all too. I like it myself.

  • We have the reg. one and Raegan loves playing with it!
  • Yep, I have a regular one (pretty much the same thing) and the kids LOVE it.  The Jr. books work on the regular one so I just skipped it and went to that one.

  • is the regular one easy to handle for a 2yo? and do you think its durable enough?

  • I think so.  It's just a wand, and you press the button to make it go.  Very easy.  You will have to plug it into the computer on occasion, but I don't think she'll have a problem with it.  Especially if you buy the Jr. books (since the print is bigger).  VERY durable, my kids have tossed that thing around and it still works like a champ.  I suggest getting the carrying case.  Has a little slot for the pen and holds a good amount of books.

  • Emma lovd hers BUT the best gift was the Poingo!  LOVE IT!
  • I would get the reg tag- like PPs said, you can use both tag and tag jr with the reg tag.  I think you'll get more use out of it, When i took DD to try both (she was 3, but was a young 3 with fine motor at the time), she actually had an easier time with the reg tag reader- easier to handle.  I also rec getting the carry case- protects everything in the house and on the go.  and even though some of the stories were for older kids, she still liked listening to some of them and the games she grew into pretty quickly.

i haven't seen any coupons lately, but before you buy anything, check on the leapfrog site for any coupons- sometimes they randomly have something.

  • I agree with Pam...we did the same thing and Indiana was 2 1/2 when we got her the reg tag and she did fine with it. We got her a few JR books and she did great!
