We're visiting the ILs tomorrow. SIL (who lives at home) is visiting her boyfriend who's not her boyfriend in Dallas. It's a good time to visit when she's not home because it brings the tension level down about 5 notches in that house.

Sunday we're going to church, having lunch with my grandparents and then going to my parents to watch the game. So far on the menu for Sunday night we're doing buffalo wings, the requisite carrots, celery and dip on the side, and broccoli slaw.

We don't have plans. I tried to throw a SB party but it failed, so it may just be me and DH with a pizza.

I'm being a Bitter Betty regarding the job I was up for and lost in December. I found out who beat me out, and I know her. I'm just really pissed she got it b/c I know for a fact I have a lot more skills and experience than her -- she just graduated college in '09. I received feedback from the search committee, and while I was the 2nd choice, there was no indication of exactly why I lost it. Wah.

I need to change the ticker to "If my instructor's inability to keep up with all our papers doesn't kill me first." I'm so mad right now I could just scream. We had to do a make-up assignment for a missed snow day or else take an absence for the day. I just got an email from my professor that somehow she doesn't have my paper (that I put in the pile with all the other make-up work papers on her desk) so I have an absence. Seriously?! It took me 4 hours to complete that assignment so to not get credit for it makes me stabby. Is an absence the worst thing ever? No, but it's one less I have for later in the semester when I might need it. This school has a rigid attendance policy and if you have x number of absences, you fail the course.

Also - sorry to hear about the job thing Mamie. That sucks to not know why they preferred one candidate over another.

Mames, that sucks about the job. Sounds like you have a right to be stabby about it. But don't worry -- it just means there's something better waiting for you.

KB, I quit teaching at a school like that because they didn't give instructors control over the attendance policy and it drove me crazy.

My weekend is shaping up like this:

Today - work and meetings until about 4:00, possibly seeing 127 Hours at 5:00 with a friend

Tomorrow - cleaning the house, submitting an article, and sleeping

Sunday - DISNEYLAND! And TiVo-ing the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl, which is really the only way/reason I know the Super Bowl is on to begin with (I really hate football...the only thing I like about the Super Bowl is that it means it's almost Spring Training time for baseball...)

Not sure exactly what we are doing this weekend... DH is skipping the basketball game tomorrow night to take me on a date night (his idea because we don't have too many more weekends left before the baby -- how cute was that?) but I dont know where we're going.  Maybe walking laps around the mall too since its too cold to walk outside.

Sunday -- I'm super excited for the game despite the fact that we aren't really doing anything... may be a few people coming over to watch it but not really having a party.  So far DH has requested sliders -- I'm doing a chipotle chicken slider I think, guac and chips, and wings.  I may also make some soft pretzels since I want to freeze some. 

If I'm lucky we'll end up at the hospital at some point but I doubt it.  I'm so ready for this child to be here!

KB - sorry about the paper -- that would make me so angry.  Mames - that sucks about the job, it's always tough to know who you lost the job the too and know you would have been more qualified.

Update: After asking her to check AGAIN, she had someone else look through the stack of papers and they found mine stuck to the back of someone else's paper. Vindication!

Don't Hassle the Hoff

Tonight we're having dinner in, which isn't typical for Friday nights then we'll probably finish up the bathroom renovations.

 Tomorrow we need to clean the house insanely bad. Since we started the bathroom renovations we haven't cleaned at all. There's a thin coat of dust all over everything from saws and ripping up flooring that needs to be cleaned since we're finally pretty much done. 

 Sunday morning probably running to the grocery store/liquor store early and getting everything we need for superbowl festivities. We'll cook for the rest of the day and then try to figure out how to fit 3 couches in my living room for everyone to have a spot to sit for the game. 

 I took Monday off prepared to be very hung over. The idea is to not be hung over so I can get random things done on monday, but I doubt that will happen.

Tonight I am getting together with a couple girlfriends for dinner and drinks, much needed after being stuck in the house for the past 3 days.

Tomorrow-errands and cleaning

Sunday-church and watching the Superbowl, although I could care less about the game, I watch for the commercials and half time show. I think it will be DH and I and maybe a couple of his brothers. I am going to make my buffalo chicken dip which I have been craving.

KB-Glad your teacher found your paper, what a PITA.

Mames-I think you have a right to be stabby, maybe she'll suck and they'll call you back. Although I agree with SBS, something better is out there. I can't believe the search committee didn't give you a valid reason for not getting the job, I'm sorry : (

SBS-I really liked 127 hours, let me know what you think. 

Hawki-How are you so close to having your baby? I hope she comes soon. How are you feeling? They say nookie is supposed to get things moving. It didn't work for me, but hey you never know!

No-thing.  NOTHING!  No set plans.

Tonight: I wish we could go to the KCRW volunteer party, but it's in Santa Monica so I doubt DH will want to and I don't really want to go by myself.

Tomorrow: I should make our freezer meals and check a lot of other things off of my to-do list.  I'm running out of time before Ghost Baby gets here.

Sunday: I wish we were going to DH's best friend's house.  That's where we went last year and they have a huge TV and really comfy couches and she always makes a ton of food.  But we haven't been invited.  I think this means they're not doing it this year.  We could invite people over, but we just had all our friends over two weeks ago for DH's birthday.  I think it's someone else's turn to host!!

Tonight we are going to run some errands and probably go out to eat.

Tomorrow we are going to Target and probably the sporting goods store. I have to have some headphones/earbuds that fit my ears. I can't run or elliptical with the regular ones because they don't fit my ears. I think I am also going to try to find an armband to run with. 

Sunday we don't have any plans. I wanted to watch the game somewhere, but no one is making any plans. I tried to invite some friends over, but everyone is lame (or maybe I am the lame one, lol). We will probably end up at my parents.
