Re: This snow is insane!
That's a lot of snow! I hope it all gets cleared out in time for the big game...I guess we're still driving down there tomorrow. Nothing's gonna get in the way of my mom and hitting the Coach outlet.
Stay warm!
That is a lot of snow for you. Stay safe. I know you guys aren't totally prepared for this type of weather.
Just think, if you lived in MA/CT/NH/ME/NY/NJ/PA....
This is what you could of gotten...taken from my front porch. My car (the black one) is an SUV...for height comparison.
Totally makes me think there is just something very bad about this winter...when the south gets 6", KWIM?
Jackie - we would NOT survive here with that amount. Seriously! 1. I'm going stir crazy. 2. People here do NOT know how to drive in it. 3. We don't have snow plows, they just sand the roads - no salt. However, they have brought in some of that stuff now because it's so bad.
The people here for the super bowl probably thought they'd pack their shorts and it'd be great.....suckers! They brought the weather with them. I need them to go back home. ha!
Southerners can deal with months of 100 degree temps.....we don't do snow. Ice is a little more familiar but still, people are stupid drivers!

Does this mean they were doing intentional blackouts? Why would they do that?
Our front yard looks kind of like Jackie's. At least we have plows and stuff. This morning I had to drive into work in freezing rain, so I'm hoping the roads have been taken care of for the drive home!

Yes! Apparently so many people were home and using electricty to heat their houses etc that we lost one of our power grid's. This caused them in turn to do rolling blackout's. Basically, every hour the power was off for 10-15 minutes. They did it in cycle's. We didn't have it too bad at our house because we are on a co-op and it was mostly the big named companies doing the black out's but we did have them.
So, yeah...you had a bunch of Texans that don't know what to do when it's below freezing in houses with no heat, driving on icy roads, and being stupid. It's been a fun week, let me tell ya!

That's crazy!!
I can't beleive you guys got 6 inches of snow, that would be equal to probably 6 feet up here. The Super Bowl is going to be interesting on sunday.
Be safe and stay warm.
