WTF! Even on augmentin and a daily steroid she has managed to get a nasty ear infection. Her ear is ooozing puss and her entire left side of her face is swollen.

I just cannot believe this....16 ear infections in 14 months:(

I'm off to cry...

Re: aaaah!!! Ella is sick again:(

  • Poor Ella!

Michaela had horrible ear infections and was always sick as a baby. She had over 20 infections in 18 months. We were planning to have tubes put in and I came accross an article about chiropractic care to treat ear infections. I wasn't too hopeful but was willing to try anything at that point. Anyways she had a couple of appts with the chiro and it actually worked. Her infections cleared up, she was able to get off of the daily meds and she avoided surgery. She's 11 now and hasn't had an ear infection in almost 10 years. I know it's kindof out there, but may be worth looking into.

  • Oh no!  Poor Baby!  I'm so sorry Lisa!  Big hugs!  XOXOXO

I was just gonna mention tubes.  I know Achelle had Camile's done.  But Jenn's article and suggestion is very interesting.  Anything is worth a try right?  Jenn, how soon after Michaela starts treatments w/ chiro did you see a difference?  How old was she at that time?

  • She was 18 months at the time and I saw a difference in about a week. Her face lost the puffiness, she regained balance (she didn't walk until over 15 months due in part to inner ear balance issues) she started sleeping better and her sinuses weren't all screwy. She went once a week for a couple of months and now just goes a couple of times a year if she starts feeling allergy type symptoms. The best part was that my insurance has chiro care and covered the appts. The chiro said that the problem was that her jaw and neck were slightly out of place and were creating pressure that was preventing her ears from draining properly. All I know is that it worked wonders for us and if my other girls had chronic infections, I would try it again in a heartbeat.
  • Oh Lisa! I am so sorry for you guys! I can't imagine one ear ache let along 16!!! Hope she feels better soon! (((hugs)))
  • Ella has tubes. Apparently, her sinus infection is so bad that it's draining out of her ears. It just always seems to be something!

  • poor dear!  Lots of hugs to Miss Ella and to mommy.
