Any recommendations for a romantic weekend getaway that's not too far away from Portland?  Thx!

Mount hood is pretty cool or the coast. Of course I live in Eugene so, my opinion might not be best for things up there.

Hood River OR is absolutely beautiful. I love fruit and being outside. Definately good in the summer time though. There is a loop around the mountain and some beautiful hotels and farms to visit.

You could stay out at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale. They have a wine cellar with tastings, a pub, a nicer restaurant, a cigar/whisky room and a really nice soaking pool. They also have a spa and you can indulge in a couples massage before your soak.

We love the Gilbert Inn B&B in Seaside.  We spent our anniversary there a couple years ago, it was pretty fantastic.

We love the Inn at Manzanita on the coast. I recently also sent my parents to a cute B&B in Monmouth near Salem, it's called MaMere's. It was close to all kinds of wineries.

My husband and I stayed here last February. It was gorgeous. It has a jet tub right by the window that over looks the ocean. It is in Lincoln City. I don't know how far is too far from Portland. But it was very romantic. They even have a book in every room that people can write in about their stays at the hotel. It is fun to read.
