Well, we got the vacation drama figured out....
We just booked our fifth anniversary trip to......the French Polynesia!!!! I am so freaking excited - we will spend one night in Tahiti, three nights in Moorea, and three nights in Bora Bora. I never dreamed we would go on a vacation like this - the next nine months will not go by fast enough for us.
Coincidently, DH's BFF (the one getting married in overseas in the castle) dropped the bombshell last night that he and his FI are *secretly* getting married in a few weeks due to VISA issues since she is not a US citizen. Rather than go over there in October, we are going to try to go to the first, real wedding. Although I would be sad to miss the wedding in the castle, it is not the pomp and circumstance we are interested in - its our friends making a life-long commitment to one another.
Finally, I would like to give a shout out to Costco. I spent our snowed in days going through 50 plus pages of forum on a Tahiti travel board and over and over again, it appeared people were getting good deals from Costco. I called them up and sure enough - we saved a considerable amount of money. If you are considering booking a trip - I suggest giving them a call first!
