terrible, just terrible.
It was just the super bowl...I'm sure no one was watching.
Re: Oh Christina Aguilera...
I actually missed it! I'll have to watch it tomorrow at work.
On the other hand, I with I had missed Fergie impersonating Axl Rose. That was terrible!
Ugh so many flubs this year! The half time show was horrible! I kept waiting for it to get better and it didn't. I'm sure Slash is wondering how the heck he got roped into that.
And they still decided to spend the thousands of dollars to fly the jets over the stadium after the Anthem...but yet they had the roof closed so no one saw it. Brilliant thinking.
Don't worry Munkii - Christina Aguilera's oops is already on U-Tube. I missed it as well and watched it there. yeah - I feel bad for her but she totally owned it so I seriously wonder if she even knew she goofed?? I'm sure she does now but at the time, she sang it like she meant to do it out of order.
As to the Black Eyed Peas - I wonder if it sounded better there. It seemed like FOX was having some serious issues getting the right mike amped at the right time and getting the background music loud enough. It was better than The Who as far as energy went but was not my favorite halftime show. I caught Maroon 5 during the pre-game show and they sounded horrid as well! Tough night for music. Keith Urban though... he did ok. (But I think he's totally beautiful to look at so I might not have paid as much attention to the music as I should have.
)
It must feel horrifying to KNOW that 30 seconds later you are going to be plastered all over Youtube because you blew the National Anthem with millions of people watching. And the half time show was just flat and completely out of tune for much of the singing. The only thing that saved ANY of it was the electric costumes.
And don't get me started on the commercials...was it just me or were some of them (like Pepsi) over the edge? Not impressed....or maybe I'm just old.
I wonder the same thing. I think it was over-stylized but if Christina's singing, there's no way she wouldn't sing it the way she did. It was solid and although I think it's terrible to mess up the national anthem, I'd rather listen to that than the half time show any day.
MY BLOG!
I couldn't believe she messed up that bad. We all were like, huh?!
That 1/2time show was awful and painful. The only person that I was semi-ok w/ was Will.I.Am. Fergie did awful. It was like listening to a cat fight.
Le yikes! And the commercials were just "eh" too. Even for me who hates sports, I enjoyed the game WAY more than everything else.
She missed a whole line and changed a line.
MY BLOG!
Honestly, I didn't realize she screwed up at first, but I wasn't paying close attention. I was running around in the kitchen trying to get food ready. And I was distracted by all of her runs... I agree it was waaaay overstyled. The Nat'l Anthem IMO is one song you don't mess with- it sounds the best and it HONORS our country when you sing it the way it was written- simple yet powerful. Is is NOT a song meant to show off your voice and how skilled of a singer you are. /rant
The BEP sucked... the commercials sucked... I really did enjoy the game though. But usually the commercials are what I really enjoy. The only one I really liked was the new VW Beetle commercial- with the little black beetle with white racing stripes, zipping around through all of the other types of bugs. I thought that was really cute. A lot of the others were either NOT funny or in really poor taste.
