Argh, forgot to ask this too. Help!

Can anyone give me their costs for yard work and pool service as well?

How often did your pool guy come out, to do what, and how much was it? My sis does her own but I would hate doing it unless it was obnoxiously expensive. I've never had a pool in a home I owned......

How often does your yard guy come to tend your yard, how big is it and how much?  Again, I've never had to do this (either let it look like crap or it naturally looked great, haha) so I'm at a loss. This lot is an acre but isolated areas of mowing, the rest is random pruning I imagine.

A THOUSAND THANKS.  Cross your fingers, I want this house!

  • Hey, FMD...

The house we used to live in on Cactus (not sure what the size of the yard was, but you might!) was $35 a month for mowing, leaf blowing, weeding (front and back). The palm tree in front was extra.

We have looked into pool maintenance at our new home - it ranges wildly and depends on the type of pump/filter you have and if it is salt water or not.

I make DH do the pool (it's not a big deal if you have the vacuum that runs overnight, and can work the simple ph/acid tests), but I have the number of the guy who did the repairs on ours before we bought the house, if you want it?

You probably pay extra to have hot-Julio-in-a-thong strutting around the yard skimming leaves off the pool....

I think Trixr4kids has a pool guy (not Julio)

  • Nice pix, chickers!  Thanks, yes if we put an offer in I will call you for the number.

I don't think I want a hot Julio cause then I'd have to, you know, put on makeup myself to go out and offer a pepsi, and apparently I'll be busy cleaning inside since I told DH we wouldn't have to get a housecleaner this time (stupid me, I'll fix that soon enough!)

I love to mow actually but its the 'keep em alive, okay?' guy that I need.  Its lender owned and all is alive but I'm sure I could manage to kill a few orange trees and 'indesctructable' bushes.  Thanks for the info.

  • That reminds me - I should change it. LOL.

Yeah - call me whenever.  The guy we had come out here was NOT a Julio.

Can't BELIEVE you told DH you wouldn't have to get a housecleaner. Are you nuts? That size house.... I wouldn't want to do it....!

  • Dude, I'm trying to win him over!!!!!!  THEN I go, 'Hey, I found a lady who will do it for $12 an hour every other week...." or something.

Our house was never so clean here as when we were showing but I was exhausted. Hello! I have a 2.5 year old and 2 large dogs! And I'm lazy! hahaha.

The problem is we still have the 5500 house up north and while now that cleaner only has to go like once a month I was trying to save money.  But I think I'll tell him I'll do the pool and yard mowing if he gets me someone once a month for 'thorough cleaning'. Trust me, he'll bend when he sees how dusty it gets when I'm too busy ;)
But yeah......you're right.........4.5 baths bite, even when noone pees in two right away.
