The appointment was a little disappointing. I feel bad for making DH go with me.
I filled out the paperwork, was weighed, peed in a cup, had my blood pressure taken, and gave a bried medical history. Then the NP I will be seeing the whole pregnancy came in and said they got a positive pregnancy test, we talked about PNVs, what I can/cannot eat, the litterbox, and went over a slighty more detailed family history. Then she told me to make an appointment during my 10th week and the receptionist will set me up with an appointment for my first u/s at one of the local hospitals.
So I go back and see the OB on the 25th for my first 'real' appointment and have my first u/s on the 28th. I'm tired of waiting. I want to know that everything is okay in there. Hope the next 3 weeks go by fast.
I still feel great... tired and hungry all the time, but great overall. Still no m/s or major food aversions yet. I keep waiting for it.
Re: First OB Appt
It's a bummer having to wait for an ultrasound!
I didn't have m/s or food aversions at all, so maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones like me!
I'm sorry it was a disappointment
. I know what you mean about feeling bad for making DH go to an uneventful appointment but I think it helps so it can feel more real and it's good for him to hear all the things you should and shouldn't do. And also for any family history stuff you might not have known.
And like Jackie, I didn't have an m/s or aversions so you may get lucky. I was waiting for it too and it never happened.
Can't wait for your u/s too!
By the end I was praying for food aversions. I gained WAY too much weight with Ryan!
Hang in there, the ultrasound will be here before you know it. Also, every monthly appt you have will pretty much be like this one - uneventful (hopefully).
My first appt wasn't until 10.5 weeks and I needed a pap, so while they were at it, they put the vag-cam up there. If I wasn't due for a pap, I doubt I would have had an ultrasound until the NT scan.

This, its pretty much the same thing every time, until you have blood taken. Cant wait for you u/s, time will go by fast trust me!
Oh booo that's too bad I was hoping you would get an u/s. I didn't have dh go with me to mine and got one and felt bad that I didn't have him come so I guess maybe it goes both ways. LOL I bet it was good for him to be there regardless sometimes I hate retelling dh stuff because I know I am forgetting things or not relaying it the right way.
Let the countdown begin though. Yay.
Bunch of show-offs.

that sounds like my first appt at 8 weeks. I saw the NP, not the OB and had health history taken and a pelvic exam. My next appt was at 10 weeks with the OB and we heard the heart beat with the doppler. Then at 12 weeks I had an u/s for the NT scan.

It's good that YH went with you to hear all the things you can't do -- otherwise he might not believe you :P
Just think: if they were concerned about anything, you might get an u/s or your appointment would be more exciting. The fact that it was so boring is a good thing. I'm sending many "boring appointment" vibes your way! (sorry!)
