I think I may have an irrational fear of tsunamis
because I keep having bad dreams about them!
And I know this is so stupid, but I actually think twice about going to places that big tsunamis have hit. I know it is crazy. Am I the only one who has this thought cross their mind? Anything to assuage this ridiculous feeling?
Re: I think I may have an irrational fear of tsunamis
Seriously, dreams aside, the whole idea of a tsunami may just be the most frightening thing ever to me.
Can you imagine, chilling on the beach with a drink in hand and a book, and suddenly the water recedes? You are caught between curiosity and HOLYCRAPINEEDTOGETOFHERENOW!!!
It freaks me out like nothing else.
This completely !!!
I went to the Tsunami memorial in Hilo on the Big Island Hawaii and it was so so sad because I could just see all those school kids thinking how cool it was that the water went out not knowing what was about to happen.. SAD SAD SAD but without that happening they wouldn't have the warnings and regulations they have now.
Hilo is a beautiful place and Tsunamis are just a way of life they have to deal with them. But usually they have enough warnings so everybody can get to safety.
