What kind of Athletic shoes do you wear??
Do any of you have shape ups?? I don't know what it is but I just can't bring myself to like them. Yesterday I actually tried them on and they felt so weird to walk in almost like wearing ski books..
They are everywhere and Its starting to get hard to find non shape ups.. So my question is I'm I missing something?? Are they great after you get used to them??
Re: Shoes?
I live in my NB sneakers... I'm sure that working there for 7 years is part or it. Nike and Reebok always fell apart after a month or 2. Adidas was always a good brand for me too but after wearing NB for the past 11 years any other brand doesn't seem to fit as nicely because they don't come in different widths.
Just for 'bumming around' I wear Nike Shox (just because I thought they were kind of cute) for running Mizuno waverunners, love them. I would totally break my neck in the shape ups, my ankles would snap in about 5 seconds. LOL
Shoes are VERY important (no seriously).
For every activity you do, there is a shoe that is good for that activity. Are you wanting shoes for walking? running? biking?
Do you have a place in town that will fit you for shoes? Most places do it for free and the examine your gait, arch, over/under pronation, etc... the correct shoe is very important to prevent injury.
For just an every-day tennis shoe, I have the Nike Free 7.0 and I LOVE them.
For running, I have a pair of Brook's Launch and I love them as well. I have VERY flat and narrow feet and I over pronate. The Launch is a "minimalist" shoe and so far, it's been great on my joints. I used to run in Brooks Adrenaline, which is a shoe with a lot of support, but they were too heavy. If you go to a store and get fitted, I promise you won't be sorry!!
Yoga doesn't require shoes, but for weekends, etc I have a pair of saucony's I got on clearance at like TJMaxx.
I have 2 old pairs of Nike's that are the shox, but the shoe is one piece, no tongue and I love love loved them. Of course they don't make them anymore, so one pair is the super special only for gym working out pair until I find a pair I like.
If you're serious about exercise I agree with Stacey, go to a store and get fitted.

This is me!! I have super flat and narrow feet. I know this sounds crazy but I had a Dr recommend Dr. Scholls Athletic shoes with the gel heel and I went to walmart to get them and I LOVED THEM best shoe ever I actually bought two pair.
This was 3 years ago and they are discontinued for these shape up type shoes which makes me sad. Its so hard finding something that I can walk around all day in and not be in pain..
