My first OB appt is scheduled for the 24th. YAY!

Very exciting!  My doctor doesn't see anyone until they are 10 weeks, so I had a 6 week wait from the time I POAS until it was "officially" confirmed through my OB.  It seemed like forever.

Here I am going in for my 3rd appointment tomorrow and I'm almost halfway through.

Six weeks would be torture!!!  I had to wait several days for the dr to decide if he wanted to take me on as a patient (I didn't have a gyno here yet). So from the time of my BFP to my first appointment is 25 days... nearly four weeks!

Let us know how everything goes.  My first appointments are always uneventful (health histories, height, weight, bp check, pee in a cup, sent to a lab for blood draws), but maybe you'll get an ultrasound?

The practice I go to doesn't do anything until 8/9 weeks. That's cool that you are getting in. But from what I hear, the 1st appt. isn't anything you don't know/learned through Google.

DH was talking about going to my appointment with me, but I assured him that it would be boring and possibly uncomfortable for him.

I'm really hoping to get a dating u/s at this appointment, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

You know, DH came to ALL of my appointments for DD and he will again with this LO.  I need him to help remember things for me (we really didn't need to do much when I was pregnant with DD, but we have a big decision to make before this LO gets here, so another set of ears helps when I'm asking questions).

Also, don't forget how awesome it will be for both of you to hear the heartbeat for the first time (probably won't hear it at your first appt, but later on).  DH is glad I made him start coming to my appointments the first time around and now he wouldn't let me schedule one he couldn't make.

I thought it was nice to have my H at the first appointment also. It was quite awkward - I needed to have a PAP smear and everything so he got to witness that! However, it was nice to have him chime in on his family's medical history. We were around 13 weeks so we heard the heartbeat as well. (My office won't see patients until 10-12 weeks.)

DH is excited to go to the appointments, but I told him this one would be like a gyno appt, so if he needed to stay at work, it was okay.

Oh crap. Never knew that stuff was going to be asked. But doh!

DH has told me he has no intentions on going to any OB appointments.   I would love to share the first heartbeat experience and going to the big u/s. [But I really do see him being an awesome dad.]

No I'm not preggo.
