iPhone 4/iTunes help?

I got an iPhone 4 a while back and never connected it to my computer (a Mac).  Now that I'm finally getting around to connecting it, it is telling me that my iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 9.2 or later.  I have no clue how to update iTunes on my phone--my computer is updated to the latest version available.

Would someone explain to my technologically slow self how to fix this issue?  Thanks! (I've tried going into iTunes app on my phone and don't see anywhere to download...went to the web site itunes.com on my phone and hit "download" on the latest version and nothing again...help!)

Re: iPhone 4/iTunes help?

  • I know you said it's updated, but it sounds like the version on your computer is the one that's out of date (the version on the iPhone updates with iOS updates periodically, Have you tried going to Software Update in the Apple menu to make sure there are no iTunes updates available?
  • The iTunes on my computer is version 10.1. It's still giving me the same message when I connect my phone :(. Maybe my iOS isn't updating? I will probably make a genius bar appointment. Suckfest.
