Post about my Dad's cancer...

This post is in honor of my Dad. This is the junk that is in him. And fitting, February is the awareness month for his type of cancer. I'm not asking you to donate or anything (though you are welcome to if you want). It is just a very much unknown type of cancer to the general public, and I would like to change that.Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Month

Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Month

imageThe Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation has designated February as cholangiocarcinoma awareness month. Several events will be taking place this month in order to raise awareness of this rare cancer. Events include fundraising for 2011's Young Investigator Award, awareness drives on Facebook and Twitter and a call on Congress.

"We wanted to designate a month where our dedicated community could channel their energy to educate the general public of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) and the challenges associated with it," said foundation president, Sara Hinkley. She added, "We developed a series of events and daily challenges to assist with directing our efforts throughout the month of February."
