So, for my fella's birthday last year, I bought him the same number of gifts as his age. (Many of them were small, or free stuff, so it wasn't super expensive or anything.) He said it was his best birthday ever.
Clearly, I set the bar too high for myself. His birthday is in a few weeks, and I have NO idea on how to top last year's giftapalooza. We had booked a weekend in Vegas for his bday weekend, but we may end up having to stay in Austin and going to Vegas another time.
My only idea so far has been to celebrate his entire birthday month (or, starting on his birthday and finishing out the month) with one awesome thing each day. Like, one morning I'd surprise him at his usual coffee stop and buy his coffee. I'd reach out to friends of his who he hasn't talked to in a while and ask them to call him. Stuff like that--tell him he's getting a month of awesome, and make it happen.
Is that weird/lame? Any other fantastic ideas?
Re: Birthday
I think that's an awesome idea - just lots of little surprises. I would start now so that the grand finale is on the actual day.
And you make me feel like a terrible, unthoughtful person! I'm such a slacker.
Obviously, next year I'll have to organize some sort of singing/dancing flash mob to serenade/entertain him for his birthday like last night's Glee GapAttack. Oh wait, that's what I'd want!

Haha.. that DOES sound awesome! I'd be afraid of topping it next year also.. maybe two weeks of awesome would be easier to top with still topping last year. :P
Gosh, was that already a year ago??
That is a great idea! I will say it will be hard to keep topping it year after year.
I can't believe its been over a year now that we've heard about special agent man. Time definitely goes by way too fast!
